Wedding Sound Consulting in Los Angeles

Every vow heard. Every toast clean.

A wedding is three or four different shows in one day: an outdoor ceremony, a cocktail hour, a dinner full of speeches and a dance floor. Snake Audio plans the sound for all of them as one system, finds the vendor who can deliver it, and works for you, not for the rental company. No packages. Every venue and every couple is different, so the plan starts from yours.

01 / What Jacob handles

What’s covered

Ceremony audio

Discreet speakers and a lavalier or handheld setup for the officiant and couple, sized so the back row hears the vows without the front row being blasted. Wind and battery backups planned.

Toasts & speeches

Handheld wireless with spares, a speaker layout that keeps mics out of the coverage, and a clear plan for who hands the mic to whom.

Band & DJ coordination

Stage plots, power, input lists and volume expectations agreed with your band or DJ before the day, so dinner stays conversational and the dance floor still hits.

Venue & planner liaison

Load-in windows, noise limits, power and site rules handled with the venue and your planner, so audio is one less thing on their list.

Service area: Based in Redondo Beach, CA, serving the South Bay and Los Angeles County.

02 / From the engineer’s side

Where wedding sound usually goes wrong

Most wedding audio problems are not dramatic equipment failures. They are small planning gaps that show up at the worst moment:

  • The ceremony nobody heard. A single speaker on a stand at the front of an outdoor ceremony, a lav clipped to the wrong lapel, and wind across an unprotected mic. The officiant sounds fine in the first rows and disappears past row eight.
  • Feedback on the first toast. The best man walks in front of the mains with a handheld. Nobody rang out the system for the speech position, so the toast starts with a squeal.
  • Dead air between moments. Ceremony-to-cocktail and dinner-to-dancing changeovers where the speakers, the playlist or the band input aren't ready. Guests notice the silence.
  • Too loud at dinner, too thin on the floor. One system pointed at everyone. Elders by the speakers can't talk; the dance floor never gets the low end it needs.

The goal is simple: guests should never think about the sound, only remember the day.

03 / How the consulting works

How it works

  1. Consultation. We walk through your venue, timeline, guest count and the moments that matter most: processional, vows, first dance, toasts, last song.
  2. A plan for each moment. Jacob specifies ceremony, cocktail and reception coverage, microphones, playback and backups, written so any qualified vendor can quote it.
  3. Vendor sourcing & quote comparison. We bring the plan to wedding-experienced LA sound companies, line up the proposals item for item, and explain the differences before you pick.
  4. Optional onsite engineering. Jacob can run sound on the day or stand beside the vendor's crew as your advocate, so the day sounds like the plan.

05 / Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a sound consultant for my wedding or just a DJ?

If your ceremony and reception are in one room with good house sound and your DJ provides solid mics, a DJ may be enough. A consultant helps when the ceremony is outdoors or in a separate space, when there is a live band, when you have a lot of speeches, or when the quotes you have don't line up.

Can you handle an outdoor ceremony in Los Angeles or the South Bay?

Yes. Outdoor ceremonies, including beach-adjacent and estate venues, are where planning matters most. We plan coverage, wind protection on the mics, power and backups so vows carry to the last row.

Do you work with our band, DJ and planner?

Yes. We coordinate stage plots, inputs, power, volume and timing with your band or DJ, and act as your planner's single technical point of contact for audio.

Do you own sound equipment?

No. Snake Audio owns no gear and is not a rental house. We specify the system and source it from vendors who can deliver it, so the recommendation is about your wedding, not our inventory.

How are you paid?

Consulting is a flat fee per event. If Jacob engineers onsite, that is quoted separately. Any vendor referral fee is disclosed to you in writing before you book.
